You may have heard of the Audi virtual cockpit, but have you thought about what it means for the automotive industry as a whole?

Cars have come a long way from where they used to be. Engines have upgraded fuel efficiency. Designs have become safer. Most importantly, convenience technology has become a staple in many new models.

As cars advance, the technology inside them does as well. When convenience technology was first integrated into cars, no one could have imagined where we would be today.

Modern technology like smart phones is immersive and user-centric, so automotive manufacturers had to adapt. Designers and engineers have developed systems that allow safer access to functions we’re accustomed to like navigation, music, and cell phone use.

The result is a safer, smarter, and simpler experience for today’s driver. There’s never been a better time to sit behind the wheel.

See everything ahead of you with the Audi Virtual Cockpit.

The Audi virtual cockpit is a 12.3-inch high resolution display that takes convenience technology into the future. This fully digital instrument cluster uses crisp, clear, and bright images to give you a comprehensive driving experience.

With the virtual cockpit you can choose between two modes:

  • Classic View
    • Dominant speedometer and tachometer
  • Infotainment Mode
    • Dominant displays of systems like navigation, telephone, and Audi connect and media

No matter which mode is selected, the Audi virtual cockpit is one of the most reliable displays in the business.

Powered by the quad-core Tegra 30 chip from Nvidia’s Tegra 3 series, the Virtual Cockpit’s display graphics are rendered at 60 frames per second. The consistent frame rate ensures the speedometer, tachometer, and navigation are displayed accurately with minimal latency.

Not only is this technology accurate, but smart user controls and the new Multi Media Interface (MMI) technology from Audi make it easy to use as well. Easily scroll or zoom in on a map with the swipe of a finger or the spin of a dial.
